Description:  EBAS is the software application for delivering total revenue management services for Power, Gas and other utility distribution. Since it is a web-based application, it will be available on a 24/7 basis for carrying out operations and viewing the progress of the project on a continuous basis. EBAS has been deployed for projects at Punjab State Electricity Board, MESCOM & GESCOM (Karnataka) and other discoms. It can be customized to suit the current needs in a short timeframe. EBAS provides all the features for ensuring project security. It has an inbuilt feature to directly download the data from the central server through encryption.  The encrypted data once downloaded into local server will be automatically segmented into packets to be uploaded into hand held machines as per the billing cycle schedule.  The segmented packets of spot billing data also will be in encrypted and will be in non-editable form to ensure safety of the data.

Another feature of EBAS is to enable systematic spot billing. Before the start of billing exercise, specific spot-billing files are created taking into account the number of Spot-Billing Assistants (SBAs) are to be deployed and also the number of hand held machines to be used for billing activity.

The creating of such master data helps in identifying the records billed by each and every SBA and also from which machine the data has been downloaded into the server.  This further enables in pin-pointing the SBA/Machine defects automatically and empowers accountability.

To ensure safety of the data, EBAS directly downloads the data from the hand held machine without any manual intervention.  The data will be in encrypted form and will be directly uploaded into the secure database. 

The key issue of data security during the data uploading is handled automatically by the software application.  The data uploaded is stored in the secure database with necessary flags for identifying the SBA who billed the consumer and also the machine from which it has been downloaded. Log of all the events is generated by the software application to ensure traceability. EBAS has inbuilt standard reports pertaining to the metering, billing and collection. These reports have been developed based on the requirement of the different utilities of the country. In addition to these reports, the specified reports in the tender document will be developed and integrated into the application. Dynamic report facility will also be provided in the software application for ad-hoc reports.
